Alta acquires undervalued multifamily in strong-growth markets across Texas and the Mountain West — pricing dislocations driven by capital-structure stress, motivated sellers, and a basis below replacement cost. We're product-agnostic across multifamily and underwrite the downside first.

Alta manages properties with an investor-first mindset. Because Alta owns Brighton, the operator's incentives are the equity's incentives. In-house operations add significant value because decisions are made on behalf of investors — not on behalf of a third-party management fee.

Brennen Jones

Principal

Brennen is a principal and founder of Alta Real Estate. Prior to Alta, Brennen was a Senior Director of Asset Management at the Irvine Company, managing their largest portfolio including premier lease-up assets. He was also an Asset Manager at JRK Property Holdings and a pricing analyst at Dell. Throughout his career, he has overseen operations and renovations on more than 23,000 units and worked on the acquisition of several thousand units. Brennen is fluent in Spanish. He holds a BS in Finance from Brigham Young University and an MBA from the University of Southern California.

Jake Murray

Principal

Jake is a principal and founder of Alta Real Estate. Prior to Alta, Jake was VP of Acquisitions at Peak Capital Partners and an AVP at Zions Bank's National Real Estate Group. Throughout his career, Jake has worked on the purchase of several thousand units, real estate fund creation, and partnership structuring. During the Global Financial Crisis, he spent several years working out hundreds of commercial real estate loans across the country. Jake is fluent in Portuguese and is working on becoming conversational in Spanish. He holds a BA in Political Science from the University of Utah and an MBA from Brigham Young University.
