Origins
Alta Real Estate was formed to take a different approach to multifamily — one rooted in the operational discipline of an owner-operator and the capital discipline of an institutional investor. The firm focuses on the Texas Sun Belt because it is where domestic migration, employer demand, and supply fundamentals converge most clearly through this cycle and the next.
Principles
- Basis discipline. We acquire assets at a basis below replacement cost, where the math protects investors before any operational lift.
- In-house operations. Brighton Residential — our owned management platform — runs every asset on the same P&L as the equity, not on a third-party fee schedule.
- Aligned capital. Principals invest their own capital alongside every fund and joint venture.
- Geographic conviction. We invest only where we have on-the-ground operational presence — Austin, DFW, and Houston.
